Before I became a conditionalist, I always felt a little inconsistent telling someone the good news that everyone–all of your family, friends, everyone you know, everyone in the world is going to be condemned to a fiery hell forever and ever by a just and loving God because of their sins. “But, boy do I have good news for you! You don’t have to go with them because Jesus died for your sins!” I guess that’s good news if it’s all about you.
Now I can share God’s revelation about Jesus Christ and it is truly “good news”. God has revealed Himself to be a holy, loving and just God. After death every one will be judged justly for what they did in this life. God’s word says, “The wages of sin is death…”. They will be punished for their sins and die—but the good news is you can escape the judgement because Jesus paid the penalty for your sins, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Now that ‘s what I call “good news”. 🙂
